The NCAA ban on American Indian nicknames

This is one of the more retarded decisions the NCAA has handed down. The Seminole nation, as noted in this article (admittedly without any direct quotes from Seminole leaders), actually SUPPORTS Florida State's use of the nickname.

I suppose "Redskins" could be considered derogatory, like the n-word or something similar, but simple tribe names? Which are actually supported by those in question?

Political correctness and the business of instructing individuals how they should feel really pisses me off. Maybe I should protest the University of Texas mascot since it's a cow and I'm Hindu? And you know, we worship that shit.

Or maybe we could round up some descendants of Sparta to protest USC's use of Trojans?
