Offense having problems? Running game going nowhere? Have no fear: the Aints D is here!

Call us up, we'll be glad to let your backup RB roll over us.

I was thrilled to see the Saints put together some good football against the Pats' starters last week after the first few penalty-ridden minutes of the game. The offense really moved the ball well against one of the NFL's premier defenses. Now the offense can't move the ball and the D just got shredded by the Ravens - Chester Taylor for God's sake!

I suppose the lone positive in all of this would be that Jonathan Sullivan - heretofore considered perhaps the biggest bust in Saints history (and we've had plenty) - is playing hard and making a difference.

My thoughts can pretty much be summed up by this thread on the Saints forum. I've been negative on Haslett since the 2001 season (when we lost our last four games by a combined score of 160-52 or so). The inconsistency, lack of discipline, inability to tackle, and all-around poor execution continues. 7-9 will be an absolute blessing this year. Shame on me for, yet again, getting my hopes up last week after one decent performance.
