H-P's preview of last weekend's games

I continue to be amazed at how little credit LSU is getting among some of the bloggerati (I love that word, if it is one). This quote is telling, though, from Heisman Pundit's weekend preview:
The Tigers have some real problems on defense and still haven't figured out how to be more dynamic on offense.

Oh my. Clearly, some pundits have not been watching the Tigers at all. It's no wonder we don't appear in his Top Ten. While the offense has a ways to go, our defense is playing some of the best ball in the country right now, and the Florida game only reinforced that point - with an offense turning it over FIVE times, we yielded only 17 points to the former-HP-favorite Gators. But I'm sure as far as he will concede, it's Florida's lack of execution that led to that result, and has nothing to do with LSU's defensive prowess. We'll let him continue to be amazed and leave the one-loss Tigers out of his Top Ten (which, until he proves to me he has actually been WATCHING our games, I will continue to take in with more than a grain of salt).

Bottom line is Bo Pelini has engineered a complete turnaround in the LSU defense that has made huge believers out of Tiger Nation. The fact that some pundits are clueless on this point only serves to detract from their credibility. And as intelligent as HP sounds, I have to admit I am amazed that he allows himself to write this. It's one thing if he just isn't a believer in defense's importance relative to offense; it's another entirely if he ISN'T WATCHING THE DAMN GAMES.
