Plea for efficiency?

Since there seems to be so many reporters down in the area who are able to report back to their networks, and so many displaced people in the area who can't reach relatives, wouldn't it be nice to see a CNN or Fox News allow those folks they come across to write down their name and have those networks post a list of those names to their websites to let the world know they're alive? The only reason Harvey Jackson's name is out there is that his story is so gut-wrenching (the man who had to let go of his wife, below).

[Edit: Looks like Nola.com and WWL-TV have forums up with alphabetical registries for people being sought and people announcing they're ok. Would be nice for the national media to do something similar so these sites don't get overwhelmed.]
